Two Black quarterbacks, Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs and Jalen Hurts of the Philadelphia Eagles, will make history when they face off in Super Bowl LVII on February 12th. This will be the first time in Super Bowl history that two Black quarterbacks will be starting for each side. Doug Williams was the first Black quarterback to start and win the Super Bowl in 1988, while Russell Wilson was the second in 2013 and Mahomes was the third in 2020. If the Eagles win, Hurts would become the fourth Black quarterback to win a Super Bowl.
