Five former Memphis police officers have been indicted for their involvement in the death of 29-year-old Tyre Nichols, who died from injuries sustained during a traffic stop. RowVaughn Wells, Tyre Nichols' mother, spoke out about the indictments and said that the officers have "brought shame to their own families" and "brought shame to the Black community". Shelby County District Attorney Steve Mulroy said that the indictments are a step in the right direction, but that video footage of the arrest will be a key factor in determining the outcome of the case.
