After 24 days adrift in the Caribbean Sea, the Colombian Navy, Maritime Authority, and Panamanian National Air and Navy Service rescued a stranded sailor, Elvis Francois. Francois had been working on his boat in St. Maarten when a storm blew him off course and he became lost. He was eventually spotted by a merchant ship with the word “HELP” spelled out on the boat’s hull, and the Colombian Navy responded to the call for help. Francois was examined by a navy member on board the merchant ship CMA CGM Voltario at the port of [...] and is now safe.
