The Memphis Fire Department has fired three of its employees following an internal investigation into their response to the death of Tyre Nichols, a Black man who died three days after a traffic stop. The investigation found that two EMTs failed to conduct an adequate patient assessment and a lieutenant drove a Memphis Fire Department truck to the scene. The Shelby County District Attorney's Office is continuing to investigate the case and more charges could be filed. The MFD is committed to ensuring its personnel adhere to the highest standards of professionalism and integrity.
