Bestselling authors George R.R. Martin, John Grisham, and Jodi Picoult are among 17 authors suing OpenAI, the creator of ChatGPT, for copyright infringement. The Authors Guild is representing the authors, arguing that OpenAI's use of their works without permission is a violation of copyright law. The authors are hoping for a resolution that will protect their works from being used without permission and for OpenAI to pay damages for the alleged infringement. OpenAI has yet to respond to the lawsuit.
