On December 18th, United Airlines Flight UA 1722 experienced a terrifying incident shortly after taking off from Kahului Airport in Maui, Hawaii. The plane dropped 1,425 feet from 2,200 feet before regaining its climb out of Kahului, and United Airlines conducted an investigation with the Federal Aviation Administration and the pilots union to determine the cause.
