Denver Public Schools (DPS) announced Thursday that they will be closed Friday for a mental health day in response to a shooting at East High School earlier this week and a data breach earlier this year. The shooting resulted in two faculty members being injured and the shooter, a student, taking his own life. The day is intended to provide resources and support for students and staff to process the events of the past week.
