The family of Tyre Nichols, a 29-year-old Black man who died three days after a traffic stop with Memphis police, has called for justice after viewing video of the incident which they likened to the infamous Rodney King beating. Attorneys Ben Crump and Antonio Romanucci, who are representing Nichols’ family, said the video showed an “unadulterated, unabashed, nonstop beating” and Memphis Police Chief C.J. Davis has terminated five officers involved in the stop. The family is now calling for an independent investigation into Nichols' death.
