Luxury Cruise Ship Ocean Explorer Runs Aground in Greenland, No Immediate Danger to Passengers or Environment

A Norwegian cruise ship with 206 passengers and crew ran aground in the remote area of Alpefjord, part of the Northeast Greenland National Park. The Joint Arctic Command is monitoring the situation and is working to ensure the safety of the passengers and crew, as well as assessing the environmental impact of the incident. The closest Danish navy ship is expected to arrive at the grounded ship as soon as Friday.
