Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-Ga.) has introduced articles of impeachment against President Joe Biden and several members of his administration on Thursday.

In a statement, Greene said that Biden has “deliberately compromised our national security by refusing to enforce immigration laws and secure our border, allowed approximately 6 million illegals from over 160 countries to invade our country, deprived border patrol of the necessary resources and policies sufficient to protect our country, and his administration has willfully refused to maintain operational control as required by law.”

Greene also tweeted that Biden’s refusal to uphold immigration laws has “given Mexican drug cartels, human traffickers, violent criminals and terrorists operational control of our border.”

The articles of impeachment against Biden were divided into three parts, according to NBC News. The first part accuses Biden of “willfully violating his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by failing to secure the nation’s borders and enforce immigration laws.” The second part accuses Biden of “willfully violating his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by refusing to protect the American people from the dangers of illegal immigration.” The third part accuses Biden of “willfully violating his oath of office to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States by refusing to uphold the rule of law.”

This marks the first impeachment introduction since Republicans took control of the U.S. House earlier this year, and Greene also introduced impeachment articles against Biden in 2021. It is unclear if the articles of impeachment will move forward in the House.
