Tragic Discovery: Remains of Missing Fisherman Found Inside Two Crocodiles in Queensland

Queensland Police have confirmed that the remains of a missing fisherman, 65-year-old Kevin Darmody, have been found inside two crocodiles. The search and rescue mission was launched in Kennedy River at Rinyirru (Lakefield) National Park on April 29th after Darmody went missing.

The two crocodiles, measuring 13-feet-5 inches and 9 feet long, were located upstream from where Darmody was last seen. The Department of Environment and Science (DES) wildlife officers euthanized the crocodiles, and a report is being prepared for the coroner.

Coastal areas in Queensland are often called “Croc Country,” and the police department had warned the public to be aware of the dangers posed by crocodiles in the area.

The police department has expressed their condolences to the family of the missing fisherman. They have also thanked the members of the public who assisted in the search and rescue mission.
