Russia Launches Large-Scale Attack Against Ukraine, Killing at Least 22 People

Early Friday morning, Russia launched a large-scale attack against Ukraine, firing more than 20 cruise missiles and two drones. The attack resulted in the death of at least 22 people, most of whom were killed when two missiles struck an apartment building in Uman, a city located about 134 miles south of Kyiv.

Ukraine’s air force was able to intercept 11 of the cruise missiles and two unmanned aerial vehicles over Kyiv. However, the attack still resulted in the destruction of the nine-story residential building in Uman.

The strikes against Kyiv were the first in nearly two months, though there were no reports of any targets being hit. The Ukrainian government has condemned the attack and is calling for an international investigation into the incident.
