Prince George’s County Police Department announced on Thursday that Patrick Wojahn, 47, was arrested on 56 counts of possession and distribution of child pornography. Wojahn resigned from his position as mayor of College Park, Maryland, the same day.
The investigation began on February 17th when the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children notified the police department of a social media account distributing suspected child pornography. Police searched Wojahn’s home last week and seized cell phones, a storage device, tablet, and computer.
The mayor of College Park since 2013, Wojahn was also a member of the Maryland House of Delegates from 2007 to 2015. He was a member of the Prince George’s County Council from 2002 to 2006.
