Hulu has ended its relationship with animator Justin Roiland, one day after Adult Swim announced he would no longer be involved with the popular animated series “Rick and Morty.” Roiland was a producer and voice actor on two Hulu shows, “Solar Opposites” and “Koala Man.”

The move follows reports that Roiland is facing two felony domestic violence charges, first reported by NBC News earlier this month. Roiland is awaiting trial on charges of felony domestic violence against a former girlfriend.

In a terse statement, Hulu said, “We have ended our association with Justin Roiland, and we look forward to clearing the path for new projects and new creators.”

Roiland co-created Hulu’s animated series “Solar Opposites” with Mike McMahan and he previously voiced the character Korvo. He is also known for his work on the popular animated series “Rick and Morty,” which he created with Dan Harmon.

Roiland has not commented on the charges or the decision by Hulu to end its relationship with him. He is scheduled to appear in court in July for a preliminary hearing.
