At 12:53 p.m., police and fire personnel responded to a report of a shooting at 455 SW 5th Street, which houses the non-profit Starts Right Here. Officers arrived to find two students critically injured and started CPR immediately. The teacher who was injured is in serious condition and was headed into surgery Monday afternoon.

Police got a description of a vehicle related to the shooting and made a traffic stop about 20 minutes after the shooting, two miles away. The shooting was at an educational program called Starts Right Here that is affiliated with the Des Moines school district.

The Des Moines Police Department is investigating the incident. No arrests have been made yet, and the motive for the shooting is still unknown.
