Iowa Teen Identified as One of the Earliest Victims of Notorious Serial Killer Randy Kraft

The Orange County Sheriff’s Department in California has identified an Iowa teen as one of the earliest victims of Randy Kraft, a notorious serial killer dubbed the “Scorecard Killer.” Kraft was convicted in 1989 for 16 slayings in Orange County that occurred over a decade-long period before his arrest in 1983.

The teen, Michael Ray Schlicht, had been missing since 1971. He was last seen hitchhiking in California and was believed to be a victim of Kraft’s. The Sheriff’s Department was able to identify Schlicht’s remains through DNA testing.

Kraft is currently serving a life sentence in San Quentin State Prison. He was convicted of 16 counts of murder, but authorities believe he may have been responsible for as many as 50 murders. Schlicht is believed to be one of Kraft’s earliest victims.

The Sheriff’s Department said that the identification of Schlicht’s remains brings closure to his family and friends. They also said that the identification of other victims of Kraft is ongoing.

The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information about the Scorecard Killer or any of his victims to contact them. They are also asking anyone who may have seen Schlicht hitchhiking in California in 1971 to contact them.
