Romeoville, IL – Police are investigating a shocking quadruple homicide in a suburban Chicago home. On Sunday night, officers were sent to the home in Romeoville to conduct a well-being check after a family member asked police to check on the family. Upon arrival, officers found two adults and two children fatally shot, as well as three dogs that had also been killed.
Deputy Chief Chris Burne of the Romeoville Police Department said the victims were identified as Alberto Rolon and Zoraida Rolon, and their two children. Burne said the victims were believed to have been shot between Saturday night and early Sunday.
“We don’t believe the offender is among the victims right now,” Burne said during a news conference on Monday. Police are not investigating the incident as a murder-suicide and they are searching for the killer.
Neighbors of the family were shocked by the news. “It’s just so sad. It’s just so sad,” said one neighbor. “It’s just a tragedy. It’s just so sad.”
