Klein and Cappuccio were among nine co-defendants charged with crimes related to the violent episode, which included hand-to-hand combat between rioters and police officers in a tunnel leading to a Capitol entrance.
Klein, who worked as a State Department official in the Trump administration, was charged with assaulting, resisting or impeding officers, obstruction of an official proceeding, obstruction of law enforcement during civil disorder, destruction of government property, entering and remaining in a restricted building, disorderly conduct in a restricted building, and demonstrating in a Capitol building.
