On Wednesday night, a powerful hail storm hit the Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre in Colorado, leaving nearly 100 people injured. The open-air venue, located around ten miles west of Denver, was hosting a concert by former One Direction singer Louis Tomlinson when the storm hit.

Videos shared on social media show fans running for cover as hail rained down on them while others waited under an overhang as waters made their way down stairs. According to the Denver area’s West Metro Fire Rescue, between 80 to 90 people were treated for injuries on the scene while seven were brought to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries, including cuts and broken bones.

One Twitter user described the scene as “straight out of a horror movie”, sharing video of a deluge slamming down an outdoor staircase covered in what appeared to be hail pellets.

The West Metro Fire Rescue said that all the injured people were treated and released from the scene. They also said that the concert was cancelled due to the storm.

The Red Rocks Park and Amphitheatre is a historic outdoor venue, and this incident serves as a reminder of the dangers of severe weather. Concertgoers are advised to take caution and be aware of their surroundings in the event of a storm.
