Charges Dropped Against Former ‘NYPD Blue’ Star Kim Delaney and Husband in Domestic Violence Case Due to Insufficient Evidence

Los Angeles prosecutors have decided not to file formal charges against Kim Delaney, a former actor on the television series “NYPD Blue,” and her husband following allegations of domestic violence. Delaney, aged 65, was initially booked on suspicion of felony assault and was held without bail until Tuesday morning, which is the maximum duration allowed without formal charges. This was also the day she was scheduled for a court arraignment, according to authorities and inmate records.

The incident leading to the arrest occurred on a Saturday morning when deputies from the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department were dispatched to Delaney’s residence in Marina del Rey. They were responding to reports of a possible domestic disturbance. Both Delaney and her husband, James Morgan, were taken into custody as a result of the investigation.

However, the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has opted not to pursue criminal charges against either Delaney or Morgan. Pamela Johnson, a spokesperson for the DA’s office, stated that the decision was made “due to insufficient evidence.” This conclusion was reached after a thorough review of the circumstances surrounding the arrests, which took place on March 29.

Following the decision not to file charges, Delaney was released from custody on Tuesday at 10:45 a.m., as confirmed by county records. Delaney, who is an Emmy-winning actor, is best known for her role on “NYPD Blue.” The case has now been closed without any further legal action against the couple.
