Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy announced Wednesday that Michael Manual Jackson-Bolanos has been charged with homicide felony murder, lying to a peace officer and entering Woll’s home without permission.
Chief James White of the Detroit Police Department said that Jackson-Bolanos came on their radar a few weeks ago and was taken into custody on Sunday. Worthy said that there is no evidence to suggest that Jackson-Bolanos knew Woll before killing her or that the murder was a hate crime.
Woll, who was the president of the synagogue, was found dead in her home in October. The cause of death was determined to be a fatal stabbing.
The investigation into Woll’s death is ongoing. Jackson-Bolanos is currently being held in custody and is awaiting trial.
