Biden Vows to Defeat Trump in Re-Election Bid, Special Counsel to Present Evidence of Former President’s Motive to Overturn 2020 Vote Count

President Joe Biden has stated that his decision to run for re-election was in part motivated by his desire to prevent former President Donald Trump from reclaiming the White House. Special counsel Jack Smith has announced plans to present evidence of Trump’s “consistent refusal” to commit to the peaceful transfer of power and his history of peddling election lies in order to establish the former president’s motive to overturn the 2020 vote count.

At a campaign event in Boston, Biden said, “If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. I cannot let him win.” When asked by a reporter if another Democrat could defeat the Republican presidential frontrunner, Biden replied, “No, I’m not the only one who can defeat him, but I will defeat him.”

Prosecutors have requested approval to introduce evidence that, while intrinsic to the case, “pre- or post-dates the charged criminal conspiracies” in order to establish Trump’s “motive, intent, preparation, knowledge, absence of mistake, and common plan” in his scheme to reverse his 2020 defeat.

Biden’s comments come as he urges Congress to pass his national security package. The former president’s decision to run for re-election has prompted Biden to make a second bid for the White House, in an effort to prevent Trump from reclaiming the presidency. The evidence presented by Smith during the trial will help to establish Trump’s motive to overturn the 2020 vote count.
