ARLINGTON, Indiana – A 59-year-old man from Arlington, Indiana has been charged with murder after human remains were found buried in a pit on his property. The man, Patrick Scott, is suspected in the June disappearance of his 17-year-old neighbor.
Court documents revealed that the victim, identified as Tindall, worked for Scott who owned a lawn mowing business. It is alleged that Scott drove Tindall back to his home, strangled her with a belt, and then buried her in a homemade box in his backyard.
A public defender has been appointed to represent Scott, who appeared in Rush County Circuit Court for an initial hearing on Thursday. He is also charged with obstruction of justice and false informing.
The Rush County Public Defender’s office declined to comment on the case.
