The Ventura County Sheriff’s Office have arrested a man in connection to the death of a 69-year-old pro-Israel protester. On Thursday, Loay Alnaji, 50, was taken into custody and will be booked on a charge of involuntary manslaughter in connection with the death of Paul Kessler.
Kessler was at a pro-Israel gathering on Nov. 5 in Thousand Oaks, California, when he got into a “physical altercation” with a pro-Palestinian protester. During the altercation, Kessler was allegedly struck in the head by a megaphone wielded by a pro-Palestinian protester. He fell backward and hit his head on the ground, and died the following day.
The Jewish Federation of Los Angeles released a statement expressing their condolences for Kessler’s family and friends. They said, “We are deeply saddened by the death of Paul Kessler, a Jewish community member who was injured during a pro-Israel rally in Thousand Oaks. We extend our deepest sympathies to his family and friends.”
