The U.S. House of Representatives will vote Tuesday on two Republican-sponsored resolutions to censure Rep. Rashida Tlaib, the sole Palestinian American in Congress, over her controversial remarks and actions in response to the Israel-Hamas war.

The votes come almost a week after the House voted to table a resolution to censure Tlaib, authored by far-right Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene, R-Ga., due to concerns from Democrats and Republicans alike that the language was too incendiary.

In response to those concerns, Greene said she has made minor changes to her initial resolution to make it more palatable.

The resolutions come exactly one month after the deadly Hamas terrorist attack on Israel and amid the devastating Israeli bombardment of the densely populated Gaza Strip. The U.S. has urged Israel to stop using “dumb bombs” in Gaza.

The House is expected to vote on the two resolutions Tuesday, with Democrats likely to oppose them. Democrats have condemned Tlaib’s remarks but argue that censuring her would be a step too far. It is unclear if the resolutions will pass.
