Washington, D.C. (AP) – A former Princeton University student was sentenced to two months in federal prison on Wednesday for his role in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol.

Larry Fife Giberson, 22, pleaded guilty to a felony charge of obstructing, impeding, or interfering with law enforcement officers in the lawful performance of their official duties. He was a 19-year-old sophomore majoring in political science at the time of the attack.

Giberson admitted to joining a mob of Donald Trump supporters in a coordinated push against officers guarding an entrance in a tunnel on the Capitol’s Lower West Terrace. He also admitted to chanting “drag them out!”

At his sentencing, Giberson expressed remorse and shame for his actions. U.S. District Judge Carl Nichols said he was impressed by Giberson’s “genuine remorse” and noted that he had “taken responsibility for his actions.”

Giberson is one of hundreds of people who have been charged in connection with the attack on the Capitol. The Justice Department has said that it is pursuing a “vigorous prosecution” of those involved in the attack.
