Detroit Mayor and Police Department Seek Justice for Beloved Synagogue President Samantha Woll

On Saturday morning, Detroit police officers responded to a 911 call in the Lafayette Park neighborhood, where they found Samantha Woll, the president of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, dead at the scene from multiple stab wounds. Officers observed a trail of blood leading them to the victim’s residence, where the crime is believed to have occurred.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel confirmed that Woll had been murdered. Woll, 40, had been the president of the synagogue since 2022 and was a beloved member of the Detroit community.

Mayor Mike Duggan released a statement expressing his condolences to Woll’s family and friends. “Samantha Woll was a beloved member of the Detroit community and her loss is deeply felt,” he said. “We are committed to finding justice for her and her family.”

The Detroit Police Department is currently investigating the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward. “We are doing everything we can to bring those responsible to justice,” said Cpl. Dan Donakowski.

The death of Samantha Woll has left the Detroit community in shock and mourning. The Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue has set up a memorial fund in her honor to help support her family.
