Pennsylvania Man Denied Entrance to Phillies Game with His Emotional Support Alligator, WallyGator

A Pennsylvania man’s attempt to bring his emotional support alligator to a Philadelphia Phillies baseball game was denied entrance. Joie Henney, of Jonestown, Pennsylvania, adopted WallyGator, a 5-foot-long alligator, in 2015 and has since made him a popular animal on both Instagram and TikTok. Citizens Bank Park’s policy on support animals is posted on the Phillies’ official website, which states that only guide dogs, service animals, or service animals in training are welcome.

Social media posts showed WallyGator on a leash with a harness with his name on it outside the stadium Wednesday. A video of Wally being walked by a girl went viral last year. Henney and Wally hooked up after a friend of Henney’s in Florida asked for help relocating a group of alligators whose homes were destroyed because of land development.

The Phillies’ policy on support animals is clear, but Henney still believes that WallyGator should be allowed to attend the game. He said, “I’ve never met an alligator that didn’t like baseball.” Despite his enthusiasm, WallyGator was not allowed to enter the stadium.

The Phillies have not commented on the incident, but it is clear that their policy on support animals will not be changing anytime soon. WallyGator may not be able to attend the game, but he will still remain a popular animal on social media.
