Police reported that an Apple Store was hit at around 8 p.m. and officers chased fleeing teenagers, recovering dropped iPhones and a “pile of iPads” at one spot. NBC10 Philadelphia reported that more than 100 people who appeared to be teenagers looted a Lululemon store. Video posted on social media showed masked people in hoodies running out of the store and police officers grabbing several and tackling them to the sidewalk.
CBS Philadelphia was on the scene where a large roving group looted several stores throughout Center City, including the Foot Locker and Apple Store near 15th and Chestnut.
Police have made several arrests and are continuing to investigate the incident. No further information has been released at this time.
