Fox News to Host “Red State vs. Blue State” Debate between Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis and California Gov. Gavin Newsom

Fox News announced on Monday that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R) and California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) will participate in a “red state vs. blue state” debate on the network. This will be the first time the two prominent governors will face off in a debate.

DeSantis expressed his enthusiasm for the debate, saying in a post on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, “I look forward to the opportunity to debate Gavin Newsom over our very different visions for the future of our country.”

The debate will be moderated by Fox News host Sean Hannity, who said, “I’m looking forward to providing viewers with an informative debate about the everyday issues and governing philosophies that impact the lives of every American.”

The debate is scheduled for Nov. 30. A spokesperson for Newsom, Nathan Click, said in a statement that they have agreed to the debate “provided there is no cheering section, no hype videos or any of the other crutches Desantis requested.” He emphasized that they “want a real debate — not a circus.”

The debate will be an opportunity for the two governors to discuss their different visions for the future of the country. It is expected to be an informative and entertaining event for viewers.
