13-Foot Alligator Found with Human Body in its Mouth in Largo, Florida

A shocking discovery was made in Largo, Florida on Friday when a 13-foot alligator was seen with a human body in its mouth. Neighbor JaMarcus Bullard told CBS affiliate WTSP that he discovered the victim in the jaws of the alligator and called 911.

The Pinellas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the unincorporated part of Largo, located in the Tampa Bay area, and identified the body as 41-year-old Sabrina Peckham. Bullard said he threw a rock at the gator to see if it was real and it pulled the body under the water.

The alligator was removed from the water and humanely killed. It was 13-feet, 8.5-inches long and weighed approximately 500 pounds. The body was recovered and taken to the medical examiner’s office for an autopsy.
