60 Minutes” Investigates: How is the United States’ Aid to Ukraine Being Used?

CBS News’ “60 Minutes” program recently visited Ukraine to investigate how the United States’ financial and military aid is being used.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy of Ukraine was in Washington, D.C. on Thursday to seek additional aid from the United States. President Joe Biden has promised to provide a small number of long-range missiles to help Ukraine in its war with Russia. The White House has requested an additional $20 billion in aid to the $113 billion already committed to Ukraine.

Ukraine has asked for the Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS), which would give them the ability to strike targets from as far away as 180 miles. This would allow them to hit supply lines, railways, and command and control locations behind the Russian front lines.

“60 Minutes” has been attempting to track where the billions of dollars in U.S. cash and weaponry provided to Ukraine has gone since Russia launched its full-scale invasion in February of 2022. The program is looking into how the aid is being used and whether or not it is helping Ukraine in its fight against Russia.

The United States’ financial and military aid to Ukraine is an important issue for both countries. It remains to be seen how the aid will be used and whether or not it will be effective in helping Ukraine in its fight against Russia.
