Alaska Representative Mary Peltola Mourns the Loss of Her Beloved Husband Eugene “Buzzy” Peltola Jr.

Alaska Representative Mary Peltola’s husband, Eugene “Buzzy” Peltola Jr., has passed away following a plane accident in Alaska. Peltola’s chief of staff, Anton McParland, shared in a statement that Peltola was “one of those people that was obnoxiously good at everything.”

Peltola was sworn into office in September 2022, accompanied by her husband. McParland shared that Peltola was “completely devoted to his parents, kids, siblings, extended family, and friends — and simply adored Mary.”

The Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi of California, expressed her condolences to Peltola and her family, saying “My heart goes out to Mary and her family during this difficult time. Buzzy was a devoted husband and a beloved member of the Alaska community. His presence will be sorely missed.”
