Gavin Newsom Dismisses 2024 Presidential Run: “Time to Move On

California Governor Gavin Newsom has made it clear that he is not running for president in 2024. In an interview with NBC’s “Meet the Press” host Chuck Todd, Newsom said it’s time to move on from speculation that he might challenge President Joe Biden for the Democratic nomination.

“Well, I think the vice president is naturally the one lined up, and the filing deadlines are quickly coming to pass, and I think we need to move past this notion that he’s not going to run,” said Newsom. He added that he is looking forward to getting Biden re-elected.

Newsom has previously dismissed talk of challenging Biden or making a run at the White House. He said his message to donors wondering if the nominee will be someone besides Biden is: “Time to move on.”

The California Governor said there has been too much “wallowing” and “handwringing” in recent months about the 2024 presidential election. He urged people to focus on the upcoming election and getting Biden re-elected.
