MOORESVILLE, N.C. (AP) – A house explosion in Mooresville, North Carolina, overnight has left one person dead and another injured.

The Iredell County Fire Services and Emergency Management director, Kent Greene, said that Robert M. Farley, 61, was found dead in the debris of the house around 4:30 a.m. Tuesday. Greene said that they are looking into an issue of natural gas, but the investigation is ongoing.

The deceased was identified as the father of Tennessee Titans cornerback Caleb Farley. Another person, described as a friend of Caleb Farley’s, was injured in the explosion and Greene said that his injuries were not considered to be life-threatening.

The cause of the explosion is still under investigation, but Greene said that they are looking into the possibility of a natural gas leak.

The Tennessee Titans organization released a statement expressing their condolences to the Farley family. “We are deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Robert Farley,” the statement said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Caleb and his family during this difficult time.”

The Mooresville community is mourning the loss of Robert Farley and sending their support to the Farley family.
