The 21-year-old woman turned herself in to be arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge. Major Saba Coleman of the Montgomery Police Department said that the riverboat co-captain took another vessel to shore to move the pontoon boat, and that the melee largely broke down along racial lines.
The woman is the fourth person charged with assaulting the Black riverboat crew co-captain. The other three individuals have been identified as a 20-year-old man, a 22-year-old man, and a 23-year-old woman. All of them have been charged with misdemeanor assault.
The Montgomery Police Department is continuing to investigate the incident and is asking anyone with information to come forward. The department is also encouraging anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them.
