Devon Archer Testifies to House Oversight and Accountability Committee: No Knowledge of Joe Biden Altering U.S. Foreign Policy to Benefit His Son

The House Oversight and Accountability Committee released the transcript of its interview with Devon Archer, a former business partner of Hunter Biden, on Thursday. Archer testified that he had no knowledge of then-Vice President Joe Biden changing U.S. foreign policy to help his son, or of any wrongdoing by the elder Biden.

Archer told the committee that Hunter Biden was selling “the brand,” and it was the elder Biden who “brought the most value to the brand.” He also said that Burisma, the Ukrainian energy company where Hunter Biden served on the board, would have gone out of business without the Biden brand attached to it.

The GOP-led committee had called Archer as a witness in its investigation into the Bidens. He told lawmakers that Hunter Biden repeatedly used the Joe Biden “brand” to protect Burisma. However, Archer said he had no knowledge of whether Joe Biden had altered policy to benefit his son.

The 141-page transcript of Archer’s testimony was released in response to questions from Congressman Goldman. It provides further insight into the investigation into the Bidens, and the role of the Biden brand in Hunter Biden’s business dealings.
