At 2:30 p.m., the Metropolitan Police Department received a 9-1-1 call about a shooting at the Capitol. Officer Hugh Carew of MPD said that “a call came in for an active shooter.” Capitol Police advised staffers to move into the nearest office, stay away from external doors and windows, remain quiet, and silence electronics.
