An Arizona teenager who had been missing for nearly four years has been found safe in Montana. Alicia Navarro, now 18, walked into a small police station in Montana more than 1,000 miles away from her home in Glendale, Arizona, to clear her name off the missing children’s list.

Navarro was reported missing on September 15, 2019, days before her 15th birthday, sparking a nationwide search with the help of the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

At a press conference, Jose Santiago, a spokesman for the Glendale Police Department, said Navarro “basically asked for help to clear her off of a missing juvenile list.” She was still in Montana and briefly spoke with detectives in Arizona via video.

In the 27-second clip released by authorities, Navarro is heard saying “No, no one hurt me” when asked if anyone had hurt her. The rest of the video was muted by the department.

The Glendale Police Department said they are grateful for the public’s help in the search for Navarro and are thankful that she is safe. They are continuing to investigate the circumstances of her disappearance and are asking anyone with information to contact the Glendale Police Department.
