Three bodies were recently discovered at a remote campsite in Gunnison County, Colorado. According to Gunnison County Coroner Michael Barnes, the bodies were two adult sisters and the 14-year-old son of one of them.

The two adult sisters, Christine Vance, 41, and Rebecca Vance, 42, were both from Colorado Springs. The bodies were found in a tent down the road from a campsite in the Gunnison National Forest about nine miles from Ohio City, Colorado. Two of the bodies were found in the tent and one was found outside.

Barnes noted that the bodies showed signs of malnourishment. The cause of death is still under investigation, but Barnes said that the bodies were in a state of decomposition and partial mummification.

The Gunnison County Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating the incident. No further information has been released at this time.
