The House Oversight and Accountability Committee has scheduled a hearing on UFOs, also called unidentified aerial phenomena (UAPs), for next Wednesday. Rep. Tim Burchett (R-Tenn.) announced the hearing at a news conference Thursday, saying “We’re done with the cover-ups.”

The hearing has long been promised by House Republicans, who pledged to explore unconfirmed claims about UAP sightings from a former U.S. intelligence official and two former Navy servicemen.

Burchett said the committee will hear testimony from three witnesses: David Grusch, a former U.S. intelligence official; David Fravor, a former Navy commander; and Ryan Graves, a former Navy pilot. Graves and Fravor both claim to have spotted UAPs, Burchett said, and Grusch has claimed the U.S. has retrieved “intact and partially intact” vehicles of nonhuman origin.

“They brought in some Pentagon bureaucrats who only had two answers to the questions they were asked: ‘I don’t know,’ or ‘That is classified,’” Burchett said at the press conference.

The House Oversight Committee hearing is scheduled for next Wednesday. It will be the second hearing on UAPs held by the House Intelligence Committee, which held a hearing on the topic last year. It is unclear what new information the committee may uncover.
