Minnesota authorities are investigating the deaths of two women whose bodies were found in separate storage units in the state.
Manijeh “Mani” Starren, 34, and Fanta Xayavong, 33, had both dated the same man, Joseph Jorgenson, 40, who has been charged with second-degree murder in Starren’s death.
Starren’s dismembered body was found in a storage unit in Woodbury, east of St. Paul, on June 28. Xayavong’s remains were discovered in a separate storage unit in Coon Rapids, north of Minneapolis, on July 7.
A tipster who reported Starren missing before her body was found said he had tried to get her help for a drug addiction, but was threatened by Jorgenson. The tipster called the Minnesota Human Trafficking Investigators Task Force and said Xayavong was missing and possibly a victim of sex trafficking.
Police are continuing to investigate the deaths of the two women. Starren was a mother of three and had disappeared on April 21.
