Five people were killed in a mass shooting in Philadelphia last week, with the first victim being fatally shot 44 hours before the others, according to authorities.

Kimbrady Carriker, 40, was arraigned Wednesday morning on five counts of murder, attempted murder, aggravated assault and weapons counts of possession without a license and carrying firearms in public, prosecutors said.

Joseph Wamah Jr., 31, was identified as the first victim of the shooting spree, having been killed on July 2, two days before the other four victims. Two boys, ages 2 and 13, were injured in the shooting, while other people were targeted but not struck.

Philadelphia District Attorney Larry Krasner said Sunday that an error prevented police from discovering Wamah’s body right away. The Philadelphia Police Department said in a statement that its investigation, with the help of the local medical examiner’s office, had determined that Joseph Wamah Jr., 31, was killed July 2.

Carriker is currently being held without bail. The investigation is ongoing.
