The State Bar of Georgia has allowed celebrity attorney Lin Wood to retire from the practice of law. This comes after Wood was facing disciplinary proceedings for his involvement in Sidney Powell’s “Kraken” litigation and his propagation of outrageous claims about the 2020 election and his own divinity.

Wood, a high-profile lawyer who embraced and promoted former President Donald Trump’s false 2020 election claims, submitted a letter to the State Bar of Georgia requesting to be transferred to “Retired Status”. In the letter, Wood acknowledged that if granted Retired Status, he would be prohibited from practicing law in any state or jurisdiction and would not be able to reapply for admission.

The State Bar of Georgia accepted Wood’s request and granted him Retired Status. Wood posted the letter to his Telegram account, confirming that the request was “unqualified, irreversible and permanent”.
