Nguyen had gone into cardiac arrest during a breast augmentation procedure at Colorado Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery in Greenfield Village, near Denver, on August 1, 2019.
Kim attempted CPR on Nguyen but later admitted he did not call 911 for help for approximately five hours. Two nurses testified they had requested permission to call 911 but Kim denied.
Kim was found guilty of attempted reckless manslaughter and obstruction of telephone service. He faces up to three years in prison when he is sentenced on September 8.
Nguyen was left brain injured and in a coma following the botched procedure and died a year later. Her family has filed a civil lawsuit against Kim and the medical facility.
Kim is a prominent plastic surgeon in Colorado and has been practicing since 2006. He is not currently in custody.
