A 20-year-old Arizona man has been arrested in connection with a shooting spree that left four people dead and one injured.

The Mesa Police Department arrested Iren Byers on Saturday on four charges of first degree murder and one charge of attempted murder.

The shooting spree began on Friday night when police responded to the murder of a 41-year-old man at Beverly Park in Mesa, Arizona. Early Saturday morning, police heard gunshots nearby and responded to the shooting of a 36-year-old woman.

The woman was taken to a local hospital and is in stable condition. She will undergo surgery for serious injuries. The identities of the other victims have not yet been released.

Police have not yet released a motive for the shootings. Byers is being held in the Maricopa County Jail and is scheduled to appear in court on Monday.
