The trial of Lori Vallow Daybell, accused of murdering two of her children and conspiring to commit murder in the death of her husband’s first wife, is coming to a close in Boise, Idaho. Closing arguments in the case are set to begin Thursday.

Vallow and her husband, Chad Daybell, are charged with multiple counts of conspiracy, murder and grand theft in connection with the deaths of Vallow’s two youngest children: 7-year-old Joshua “JJ” Vallow and his big sister Tylee Ryan, who was last seen a few days before her 17th birthday in 2019.

Prosecutors allege that the couple used a doomsday-focused plot to carry out their crimes. They have spent the last four weeks presenting evidence to the jury in the triple murder trial.

Vallow Daybell did not take the stand in her own defense. She and Chad Daybell married in November, just two weeks after the death of Daybell’s first wife, Tammy.

The jury will now hear closing arguments from both the prosecution and defense before they begin deliberations. It is unclear how long the jury will take to reach a verdict. If convicted, Vallow Daybell could face life in prison.
