Seven people were found dead in an Oklahoma home on Monday, and authorities believe two of them are teenage girls who had been reported missing.
Okmulgee County Sheriff Eddy Rice said during a press conference that he believes all those who had been reported missing were found in the home in Henryetta, located roughly 50 miles south of Tulsa. The Oklahoma Highway Patrol had issued an endangered missing advisory earlier in the day for 14-year-old Ivy Webster and 16-year-old Brittany Brewer.
Rice said the medical examiner’s office would confirm the identity of the victims, including the two teenage girls. He added that he had “no idea” what led to the deaths.
The four other victims have not yet been publicly identified. The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation is currently investigating the incident.
The deaths of the seven people have shocked the local community. “It’s a tragedy,” Rice said. “It’s a tragedy for the families, it’s a tragedy for the community, it’s a tragedy for the state of Oklahoma.”
