Five people, including an 8-year-old child, were killed in a shooting at a home in Cleveland, Texas, on Friday night, according to the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office.
Four of the victims were found dead inside a residence on Walters Road in the Trails End area, the San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post on Saturday. The fifth victim, an 8-year-old, was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the home around 11:30 p.m. Friday in reference to a harassment complaint. Sheriff Greg Capers said the suspect is from Mexico and is not far away from the scene.
Three additional victims went to the hospital, but their conditions are unknown. Two others were inside the home and were evaluated on scene and released.
A manhunt is underway for the suspect, who is believed to be about 10 to 12 miles away from the scene. The San Jacinto County Sheriff’s Office is asking anyone with information to contact them.
