A Houston man has been charged with murder after allegedly shooting a man posing as a parking attendant and then returning to a restaurant for dinner.

Erick Aguirre, 29, appeared in court Thursday on murder charges in the April 11 death of 46-year-old Elliot Nix. According to court records, Aguirre had paid $40 to park his car and then went into the Rodeo Goat restaurant. Inside, he learned he had been scammed.

Aguirre then allegedly returned to the parking lot and shot Nix. He then told his date “everything was fine” and that he had just scared the man. The two then started walking to a table, but left to eat somewhere else after Aguirre looked uncomfortable.

Aguirre’s date contacted police two days later after police had released photos of the suspect. Aguirre was arrested and charged with murder.

The case is still under investigation and no further details have been released.
